Route Proposal to the Office of Sponsored Projects
Grants and contract proposals must be routed and approved internally in myResearch, GW’s integrated online electronic research administration (eRA) tool, prior to submission to sponsor. The proposal should be routed for Specialist Review at least five business days before the deadline for submission to sponsor. Proposal routing begins when the principal investigator (PI) logs into myResearch using GW’s single sign-on (SSO) to “Create a Funding Proposal”.
Why Does OSP Need to Submit My Proposal?
Sponsored projects awards are made to institutions, rather than individuals. The Office of Sponsored Projects is GW's authorized organizational representative to review and accept sponsored project agreements on behalf of the university.
Process
- Create a Funding Proposal: Log into myResearch using GW’s single sign-on (SSO) to “Create a Funding Proposal”. For additional information regarding myResearch support, training videos and FAQs, please visit the myResearch page.
- Internal Review and Approval of Proposals: Make sure your internal department or school leadership has reviewed and approved the proposal.
- Route the Proposal to Office of Sponsored Projects: The Proposal must be routed at least five (5) business days before the submission deadline. Please calculate this number from the start of the business day and account for GW closures.
- If the proposal is not routed for Specialist Review in final form by the five day deadline, outcomes may include:
- return to the principal investigator (PI),
- submission with minimal or no OSP review,
- withholding from submission if the proposal is nonconforming to sponsor guidelines and regulations and/or GW policies,
- post-submission scrutiny which may result in withdrawal from competition by GW,
- if awarded, a delayed start date because of additional time needed to review terms and conditions.
- If the proposal is not routed for Specialist Review in final form by the five day deadline, outcomes may include:
