The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) Education and Training Unit facilities trainings that cover all stages of the sponsored projects lifecycle. The trainings are offered at various times throughout the year. If you would like to request any of the following trainings for your school, institute or department, please e-mail us with a request.

myResearch - GW's Electronic Research Administration (eRA) Tool

myResearch is GW’s integrated online system for proposal development and sponsored award management. Trainings have been developed to introduce myResearch to principal investigators, research administrators, proposal reviewers. Trainings cover all functions of myResearch, including pre-award functions, post-award functions, agreements, subawards, SF424 creation and more Please go to the myResearch page for additional information to view upcoming training sessions and access recorded trainings and other resources.

Pre-Award Boot Camp

Award Management Boot Camp

The 2024 Award Management Bootcamp is currently underway! Slides and video recordings of past sessions can be found on the OSP Education and Training SharePoint site (GW login required). Topics include an overview of sponsored projects, research integrity considerations, award modifications and prior approvals, purchasing goods, and much more. Post-Award Management Training Series

The Post-Award Management Training Series covers topics for effective management of sponsored projects including an overview of the regulatory environment, documenting and submitting expenditures, financial monitoring and award closeout, among others. All staff who work with sponsored projects are encouraged to attend these workshops.

PI Dashboard

The PI Dashboard is a powerful electronic tool for managing sponsored projects. It allows you to see the latest expenditures, spending trends, labor reports, alerts, encumbrances and more, related to sponsored projects you manage or assist in managing. Requests for training on the PI Dashboard should be made to a post-award sponsored projects administrator or to assistant director of post-award management Alma Starks. They will walk you through the PI Dashboard, highlight tips and tricks, and answer any questions you may have related to this award-winning tool.

OSP provides PI Dashboard training periodically throughout the year, open to all research administration staff and faculty at the university.
