Budget Revisions

A budget revision is necessary prior to the transfer of funds allotted for participant support costs or training allowances (direct payment to trainees) to other categories of expense or to the inclusion of costs, unless waived by the federal awarding agency, that require prior approval in accordance with OMB Uniform Guidance section 200.4407.

A budget revision request should be submitted to OSP for review prior to sponsor submission. Review of the budget revisions will take into consideration the original intent of the project, how the budget revision(s) will support the goal(s) of the project and if the revision is reasonable, allocable and allowable.

Approval of the budget revision request and of a budget modification are required prior to expenditures not included in the existing budget.
