Grant Transfers

When a PI intends to relocate to a new institution with an awarded project, it is the PI's responsibility to work with their department to submit a request through the school and the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) for the relinquishment of that award.

As awards are issued to GW and not the PI, GW has the ultimate authority to determine if the award is retained or relinquished to the PI's new institution.

Please submit a Grant Transfer Notification as soon as you have identified a start date at your new institution.
